Your book comes out, deliberately, thirty years after the approval of Law 180/1978, perhaps best known as the "law Basaglia" from the name of Mark Levy MD, psychiatrist
Venetian who built and oversaw the launch. Basaglia moved in a strongly militant size, the result of the "spirit of time", and wave movements in previous years and the so-called "anti-psychiatry".
How do you think is left of the "spirit" and the military?
My job is actually the result two years of research. Back when I began to think to make a report on the "madness" I knew nothing of thirty years. It just happened that I approached the subject. More than the case, how to say what's appropriate and what is not? Since I moved to Lucca Volterra about 12 years ago. My current girlfriend brought me one day for a walk the paths around the halls of the former asylum. It had to be a romantic date, those paths have been taken over by Volterra for walks, lovers. I rejected the romantic expectations and then intrigued by those structures crumbling I could not resist and went inside. I was completely ignorant in the sense I did not know what actually was the madness that would entail in Italy ....... CONTINUE
